Our AXR engine (2006, Euro4, no DPF) has normal oil consumption and good performance.
and readings of 13, 18, and 23 are completely normal.
But it almost always makes a noise when starting with a slightly warm engine.
Very subtle, yet noticeable, clouding (color is more towards dark).
My almost 10-year-old Euro2 AFN is a perfect example in this regard.
Even before the DPF (Diesel Particulate Filter) was installed, there was practically never any visible smoke.
Does the PD generally tend to exhibit this behavior?
I would appreciate any experiences you can share.
Best regards, Klaus.

If the exhaust smoke is more black, it could be due to a coolant temperature sensor that is sending too low a temperature reading to the engine control unit.
When dealing with gray smoke, the likely causes are either a faulty turbocharger seal (specifically, the bearing area, where oil can accumulate in the intake manifold) or the cylinder head (worn valve guides/valve seals).
Hi Klaus, I also occasionally see a small, dark cloud during the ATD (Abgas-Temperatur-Diagnose) at startup. I suspect that, under certain operating conditions, the starting amount is quite significant , but there's no need to worry.
