Exact meaning of starting amount (MWB 5, 2)

Volkswagen Golf III, AFN engine, 235,000 km (approximately 146,000 miles).

Why does column 2 of form MWB 5 ("Starting Quantity") show a value before the start?
Should the value be 0 mg/stroke instead of the value used to initiate the start process?
A value may only appear after a successful start (or possibly during the start process).
Does the process start with a long organ sound? Is the resulting value always...?

Good question . In the case of AFN, it appears that a starting value for the injection quantity is determined depending on the coolant temperature, and this value is then increased during "cranking" until the engine starts or the start attempt is aborted.
