Hello,
I have the following error message in the error memory:
005269 - Switching valve for exhaust gas recirculation (N345): Open circuit/Short circuit.
P1495 - 000 - - - Sporadic
Environmental conditions:
Error status: 00100000
Error priority: 2
Error frequency: 254
Mileage: 208,142 km
Time: 0.
Date: 2000.00.00
Time: 13:04:07

Environmental conditions:
Speed: 2016 /min
Speed: 13.0 km/h
Last: 67.1%
Voltage: 14.29 V
Binary value: 00101100
Air mass/Hub: 710.0 mg/H
Air mass/flow rate: 750.0 mg/H.

I already replaced the N345 component, but the error still persists.
Question: Is the output of the MSG (Message Signal Generator) actually monitored for breaks or short circuits?
or is the message a result of other parameters?
Best regards, *HGo*

You're welcome, RedR32.

The question was of a general nature.
I wanted to know how the error entry is created.

It is a:
VW Passat B6 3C BLS 1.9 TDI PD 77kW.
Year of manufacture: 2005.

Best regards, *HGo*

Hello,

"Interesting error message, the correct wording should be: '005269 - Switching valve for exhaust gas recirculation cooler (N345): Open circuit/Short circuit to ground'."

Most likely, there's a loose connection in the solenoid coil or a loose connection in the wiring (connector, damage from rodents, etc.).

Best regards, Rainer.

Thank you, Rainer.

Thank you for your comment.
Since I've already replaced the valve and the connector looks fine visually, I'll need to trace the cables.
...and go hunting for weasels icon_twisted.gif.

Greetings *HGo*
