Hi,
no, don't worry, I don't want to promote sound tuning right now.
My experiences have also been somewhat unintentional. On Friday, the pipe directly connected to the turbo broke off (that was the only original part). As a temporary repair, a piece of (thicker) pipe was welded on to prevent anything from getting in, as I still had to drive 300 km home.
He was probably operating within normal parameters, although he seemed a bit sluggish. However, it's very difficult to judge, as the "popometer" is heavily influenced by the insane amount of noise.
What's definitely worse is the starting behavior. It starts very reluctantly, with extreme vibrations and a prolonged cranking sound. Once, it even stalled because I turned the key back to the "off" position after the initial ignition, as I usually do. Based on the starting behavior, I suspect that the engine might need some kind of back pressure. Or are there any other explanations for this behavior?
My emergency escape route:
"Does anyone happen to have a turbo flange for an AFN engine with a small piece of pipe still attached (3-4cm would be enough)?"
Otherwise, I guess I'll have to machine a new flange, because the one I have is completely rusted.
Greetings.
