Error message: "> 005510 - Valves for engine mount (N144)/(N145): Short circuit to positive."

The reason is quite simple: One or more engine mounts are electrically adjustable in terms of stiffness/damping.
This means that the engine mount is not a simple "rubber buffer," but rather it is filled with a gel that changes its viscosity under electrical influence.

Depending on the tax rate, the rubber buffer is either hard or soft.
The engine control unit adjusts the stiffness of the engine mounts in idle mode to "soft" in order to dampen engine vibrations as much as possible and decouple them from the rest of the vehicle body.
Under load, it is set to "hard" to prevent excessive motor movement.

The error message indicates that either the wiring to the motor mount is faulty or the motor mount itself (internally) is defective.

After checking the wiring to the engine control unit and ruling out issues like rodent damage, the next step is to replace the engine mount.
