Hello,
seit heute morgen streikt mein Motor. Er springt normal an und dreht dann mit erhöhtem Leerlauf bei ca. 1000 U/min! No gas accepted!

The car: Audi A6 2.5 TDI, engine code AKN.

The following entry was found in the error memory:

00575 - Terminal 15.
08-10 rule limit exceeded - Intermittent.

00777 - Steering angle sensor (G85).
27-10-implausible signal - intermittent.

After clearing the error memory, the lowest entry immediately reappears while the engine is running. This seems to be where the main problem lies!

What do these entries mean?
What measures are necessary?

Thank you in advance!
Best regards,
Achim

Hello,

The error description (terminal 15, steering angle) does not match the error codes.

A list of error codes for the AKN, along with possible causes, can be found in the error database. Please check that first.

Hello,

It seems there might be a bug in my VAG Com software.

The provided text is definitely correct! Please disregard any error codes.

I couldn't find those entries in the error database.

Regards,
Achim.

Hello,

What makes you so sure that the error description is correct and not the code?
The error message "steering angle" is coming from the ABS/ESP control unit. Your engine control unit (ECU) doesn't recognize it.
And we're talking about the engine control unit (ECU), right?

@ All: The error codes seem to be correct, but the text associated with the error code is not. icon_mrgreen.gif
For my part, I'm quite sure I know where the problem lies. However, at this point, I'd like to reiterate my explicit request to the person who asked the question to also use the search function.
Nod with the fence post: You can also 2 enter search terms and then click 'all words must be present'. And there is a list of error codes for the engine code in question...

Best regards, Rainer.

Hm,
I found the bug today!

Typing 'steering angle' into the search function resulted in a message indicating a connection to the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System). The error message 'implausible signal' led me to the idea of a disrupted electrical connection!

After that, I disconnected the ABS connector and cleaned the oxidized contacts, and the engine runs perfectly again. Overall, the entire driving behavior has changed since then. The engine responds better at low RPMs!

Conclusion:
The error messages are correct!! Also, there probably is a connection between the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and the engine control unit.

Nevertheless, thank you for your suggestions.

Regards,
Achim.

Does your car have traction control or a similar system that reduces engine power when necessary?

...What a surprise... I would have expected the 777.

Hello,

I also find that strange. The term "steering angle" doesn't appear in the error messages of the engine control unit (ECU). Or was the ABS control unit read?

What is the model year of the car? Which ABS control unit connectors were corroded?

Hm,

I believe I can distinguish between the ABS and the engine control unit. Additionally, the glow plug indicator light in the instrument cluster illuminated, which suggests a fault in the engine control unit! The engine is from the year 2000. Unfortunately, I can't say how the contacts are numbered, and I'm not sure if the problem was actually caused by the contacts I suspect. The contacts in the lower right corner, first row (viewed from the driver's side fender), showed slight discoloration (oxidation). If someone can describe the numbering of the contacts, I would be happy to check again.

Initially, I also suspected error code 00777 (throttle pedal potentiometer), but the values being displayed were perfectly normal!

What about the other error 'Terminal 15'? I've used the search function again, but I couldn't find any specific information. Could it be related to the vehicle's voltage, which might be too high? Or perhaps there are problems with the generator or the voltage/charging regulator in the generator?

Regards,
Achim.

Hi Avoso,
Could it be that your VAG-COM version has been enhanced by a small add-on program?
In some incorrectly activated versions, Uwe Ross playfully included inappropriate and nonsensical error messages.

Best regards, Rudi.

Hello Avonso...

1. The engine control unit (ECU) and the ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) already communicate with each other.
(If EDS, ASR, and/or ESP are present)
However, if the ABS is integrated into the engine management system...
An error such as 'Interference Load Management' or similar may be logged.
The engine control unit (ECU) has no record of any ABS error messages.

I find it impossible that terminal 15 exceeds any regulatory limits.

Best regards, Steve.
