I'm Bernd from the Netherlands, and I'm aiming for a score of 51.
After owning two Audi 80s, I once treated myself to an A4, and I regretted it right from the first oil change; it's such a bulky car compared to the 80.
After dealing with cavities in the timing belt and having to replace 20 valves, I was pretty fed up with that car and wanted something more familiar, something that could even be repaired with a hammer if necessary.
Said, searched, done... I am once again the proud owner of an Audi 80, Type 89, B3.
The great thing about this car is its manufacturing year, 1986, which means it is completely exempt from taxes in the Netherlands.
Unfortunately, it's a gasoline engine, and I don't want to convert it to run on gas because the extra tank would take up almost all of the trunk space.
That's why I had the idea of converting it to run on diesel.
A donor vehicle has already been found and stripped down... it's a 1.6 TD engine... why that one? Because I can simply install it without any welding, and because it still had a lot of extras that I wanted.
I certainly have a few questions about that

, but unfortunately, I can't create a topic yet because I don't have VCDS or something similar, which is probably a requirement to be able to post.
I hope that changes.

It's kind of boring here.
What's the point of having the best forum if you can't participate in it?
Why would someone need to own VCDS if they don't actually need it?
Or could it be that there's another reason why I can only write things here?

EDIT: ...and/or, of course, with a valid German VCDS license or a Bavarian Technic license!

The restriction was implemented because, despite the efforts of many active moderators, it was no longer possible to maintain the quality of the forum due to various other factors.
So, it definitely isn't targeted at newcomers, but rather represents an (still) active emergency brake.
