From this perspective -- with the oil pump's declining performance -- would it be sensible to install an oil pressure gauge in order to detect this problem in a timely manner?
Who knows what the oil pressure should be at operating temperature and approximately 2000 rpm?
I am asking because I also operate a BSS that includes an oil pump with a pulsation dampening module. The previous owner had the engine die after 90,000 km; there was a replacement engine installed in 2009, which has now run for approximately 80,000 km.
