TDI Timing Checker: Troubleshooting Guide

I got a bit of a scare today when I turned on the "TDI Timing Checker" on my AFN.
I simply hadn't set the setting to AFN, and other engines were pre-selected.
This error is likely to go unnoticed frequently, because the setting is hidden in a relatively small selection box, and the graph, which always appears, tends to draw attention.
I think it would be better if a graph only appeared after the user has made a setting.

A few weeks ago, there was already a similar mistake, as you can see at the end of /viewtopic.php?t=26436.

Unfortunately, the corresponding page 31 in the manual for version 11.11.x also does not contain any information on the matter.

I know it's just a minor issue, but if it causes someone to start panicking or overreacting, that would be unfortunate.

Adding a simple prompt like "Please select the engine" would likely be easy to implement, but the question is how many requests of the type "An error message appears when the timing checker starts" I will then receive?

It's really tough, the kind of "bug reports" I receive. It needs to be said. For example, "VCDS doesn't find my diagnostic system!" "Is it connected to the PC?" - "No."
