2.0L TDI engine, engine code BSS, mileage approximately 90,000 km.
Oil: Aral Supertronic Longlife III 5W30.
Oil temperature approximately 85 degrees. Celsius, oil pressure:
850 rpm: 1.5 bar
2000 rpm: 4.2 bar
3000 rpm and above: 6.0 bar (The bypass valve appears to be opening, and the pressure does not increase further.)
Measured with a calibrated instrument (± 0.05 bar).
Question: Isn't the oil pressure at 2000 rpm much too high? According to my recollection, the oil pressure should be approximately 2 bar at that engine speed when the engine is at its operating temperature.

So far, so good. The turbocharger spins quickly at 2000 RPM under load, so it needs good oil pressure. Therefore, my minimum value is 2 bar. 2010 Caddy kombi life 103 tdisg6 BMM KXW

Thank you for the response, Red.
I'm going to leave the oil pressure gauge installed. My hope is that I can detect early signs of wear on the oil pump drive (a known issue with the hexagonal shape) and not just rely on the oil pressure switch, which I consider to be inadequate. Unfortunately, replacing the hexagon socket head screw as a precautionary measure is a rather time-consuming process when installing it lengthwise.
