Hi there,

After a winter mostly spent driving short distances, I took the car back onto the highway and noticed that it no longer reaches speeds above 195 km/h according to the speedometer. Before, it would consistently reach around 220 km/h.

I visited the mechanic and had the error codes read from the car's computer (OBD). All values were within the normal range, so no conclusions could be drawn.

Do you have any ideas? Could it be the turbocharger or the EGR valve, which is known to cause problems in the 1.9 diesel Fiat and can also affect the boost pressure sensor?

Could it be the LMM (lambda sensor), or is the VTG (vanos valve) clogged due to frequent short trips?
Greetings.

Hi there,

"VTG is common. You can clearly see how the linkage moves when starting."

Does it make sense to verschandeln the boost pressure sensor sometimes?

If the Fiat isn't going into limp mode (otherwise it wouldn't be able to reach 195 km/h).
It's most likely due to the aging mass airflow sensor (MAF). If maintenance is neglected, it could also be a completely clogged air filter. A slightly clogged catalytic converter or aftermarket diesel particulate filter (DPF) can also cause this – try driving for a longer distance to "burn it off."

If it were an EGR valve, it would produce a lot of black smoke and have low power.
You can easily verschandeln the LD sensor; it won't hurt anything.
If the measured LD pressure values are incorrect, the MSTG system will enter emergency mode, and an error message will be logged.

Hi,

A clogged particulate filter is not the issue. I have already regenerated the DPF, and now I will reluctantly bite the bullet and invest in a new mass airflow sensor (MAF).

Hi there,

A small crack in a vacuum hose was the culprit.

Thank you for the solution! Where was it located, and how was it found?
