HI.
Does the differential pressure sensor have an ATM connection, meaning an open end, or is it defective?

Great, thanks.
It's a CFFB in a VW Sharan (MJ11).

Correct, it is normal depending on the model.
Just to be on the safe side, I should mention that such a "connection" is not possible or useful if the DPF uses a second connection for the differential pressure sensor.
Therefore, you cannot simply choose freely between the two possible connection types; instead, when performing repairs or modifications, you must use the same variant as before, because the software in the engine control unit expects it.
Best regards, Rainer.

Hi Martin,
With the differential pressure sensor shown here, which has an ATM connection, you can directly measure the back pressure after the turbocharger and before the DPF, and not just the pressure drop across the DPF.
I'm interested in knowing what the back pressure is. Do you have any measurement data from full-throttle runs?
Best regards, Georg.

I don't have any data.
I had the car for the entire weekend, but it was more of a "static display."
All the related and friendly families were there, and generally, everyone wants a car like that, but each person still needs to figure out the price.
We were more concerned with getting in and out, securing child seats, etc.
I don't want the CFFB; it's clunky and too weak.
Again, a CR that vibrates more than my PPD - just like all five of the 140 HP CR models I've driven so far.

"Could they be doing this to directly measure the pressure for the lambda sensor's pressure compensation, instead of relying on a model?"
They probably already have a complex model for soot loading. Whether they use differential pressure or back pressure depends on whether they model the DPF as a simple container or as a "container with a pipe attached to the back."
However, pressure compensation for the lambda sensor is simplified and improved because it provides a direct measurement, rather than relying on a pressure model at this point, which may be affected by the variable loading of the DPF or be difficult to implement.
