Hi,
I have an Audi 80 TDI, and I bought some new injectors yesterday at a great price. Since the engine has already run for 290,000 km, I wanted to do something good for it and give it new injectors, even though it's running well.
The seller listed the part number as:
028130201 (without NHG)
028130201A (with NHG)
specified.

According to my Audi partner, I need...
028130201 GX (without NHG)
028130201 HX (with NHG)

and then there's also...
'028130201 X (without NHG) is supposed to be for older models than mine.'

The 'X' simply stands for exchange.

Can I do anything with these nozzles now?
I've already used the search function, but unfortunately, I haven't found anything relevant.
Thank you very much.
Best regards, Wurstblinker.

Hello,

The part numbers 028130201 and 028130201A were used up to chassis number 8C-P-059 000. The part numbers 028130201 G and 028130201 H are used from chassis number 8C-P-059 001 onwards.
Tschüss

Sure,
That's also what the parts seller told me.
According to my document, I should actually have the ones starting with 8C-P-059 001.

But for which engine were the parts with the code 'vor 8C-P-059 001' intended?
However, the only change to the 1Z model occurred in late 1993. Mine is from March 1993, so it's still the version without the change.
Can I still use nozzles?
Are there any technical differences?
Regards,
Sausage blinkers.

Hi,

You don't even need to ask the service department...they probably don't even know what a magnetic valve for boost pressure limitation is icon_evil.gif.

You need to contact Bosch directly and hope that the... well, the people there actually look at the component drawings. That's the only thing that's really informative... I know from them that, for example, the NHG 028130201J and 028130201Q are almost identical in construction (for your model?).

Hello,
Sure, no problem.
Does Bosch have a central phone number where you can make inquiries?
But I think someone here might still be able to help me?
Best regards,

Okay, one more thing.
Can you tell if there's any wear and tear on a nozzle just by holding it in your hand? Are there any signs or marks like that?
Sure, here's the translation:

'Thank you.'

Hi,
I just spoke with Bosch.
There was a very kind and helpful man there. He selected and compared the nozzles.
There were definitely differences.
For example, the diameter of the nozzle holes changed from 0.184 mm to 0.194 mm.

The nozzles would certainly work, but I might have to accept a slightly lower performance.
When I told him that I only wanted to replace the nozzles as a precaution, he advised me against it anyway.
Don't touch a running system!
A former Bosch jet engine developer (now retired) told him that the recommended replacement intervals are pure rip-off.
I'm leaving the nozzles installed and selling them again.

Does anyone need any?
(affordable)

Some customers and forum participants, however, see it icon_wink.gif completely differently.

'Bosch also also talks about a lifespan for pumps and injectors, so I don't fully understand that statement...'

Hi Gremlin,

Of course, there are many forum members here who have had their engines with mileage well over 250,000 km (including myself). In the cases where there was piston damage, there were only two states of the engine: car on (full throttle) and car off icon_wink.gif. I believe that with reasonable driving, the injectors can last well over 200,000 km (except for the NHG).

I was thinking more about effects like improved acceleration, less smoke, reduced fuel consumption, and better driving performance icon_wink.gif.

And if the injectors start to drip, I don't think it has anything to do with the way you're driving!

Also, wie bereits erwähnt, entweder hier oder in einem anderen Thread: Diesel fuel at 2000 bar is extremely hard! And that has nothing to do with the driving style.

If I hadn't accidentally noticed that something was dripping from my good old 1Z, they would still be in there. But I don't regret the change! The car starts differently, it doesn't smoke anymore when starting cold, it generally runs better and quieter, and so on. Of course, the injectors could have lasted for who knows how many more kilometers. But does it do the engine, and therefore me, any good? The fact is that pumps and injectors are wear parts, and in my opinion, at least the injectors, had lived their lives after 200,000 km! icon_rolleyes.gif

Hi,

Sure, you are right icon_razz.gif. However, when it comes to the prices, the question is whether a preventative replacement is justified (I replace the NHG after 150,000 km). Of course, the engine starts better and consumes slightly less fuel... but whether it's worth it. If a piston is about to fail, that's a different matter. To determine that, one would need to calculate the probability of a piston failure in the three cylinders without an NHG. Does anyone know of a case icon_question.gif?

It's important to note that when dealing with a piston failure, which often leads to engine damage, the replacement of new injectors should also be considered.

In my case, it was two nozzles that were causing the problem, and neither of them were NHG brand. I think nozzles from other brands can also have similar issues, although the probability might be lower!

Hi.

That's great! We've been searching for a source of information like this for a long time, and it's been fruitless so far.

It would be interesting to know the nozzle sizes, etc., of other nozzles, such as those for ALH, ASV, AHF, etc.

The kind man was very helpful.
Since he couldn't directly compare the nozzles on the PC, he then wrote down the data on paper and compared it.
It was a 01805 number that I found on the Bosch website.
That's what it's there for!
Best regards,
