Hello

According to my experience, the engine in the Polo 6R with the 1.6tdi is remarkably good at dampening noise and vibrations. You can accelerate moderately with a load of 1,000 rpm without it droning or humming (this is nothing like my previous ATD, where you had to get over 1,500-1,600 rpm before it became tolerable).

However, I must note that this ability is at least strongly dependent on temperature. This means that at outdoor temperatures below 5-10 degrees, it still produces a noticeable amount of noise (it gets a little better with a warm engine). VW has developed some beautiful new two-stage hydraulic bearings for this engine, but they shouldn't be temperature-sensitive (as they are filled with glycol).
Is this behavior normal, or should I expect my ZMS to fail prematurely (at 60,000 km)?

/Jan

Really? Again, hydraulic bearings?

I need to check that right away.

I was constantly impressed by the CAYC's performance during the 400 km race in WOB, especially its handling and responsiveness.
That 105 horsepower can feel quite sluggish compared to 105 horsepower (BLS, 1.9 TDI DPF)... Crazy.

But yes, Dröhnen was quite... I thought it was because he didn't have the power needed to roar.

Yep, it is described in SSP442, page 20; (Quote: "To find a compromise for all tasks, hydraulically filled engine mounts, so-called
Hydrolager, installed.

For the Polo, a CAYB (230Nm) is suitable. However, it also feels weaker than an ATD (with 240Nm), which is mainly due to the long gear ratio and therefore the long spread of the 5-speed gearbox. For this, the CAYB, according to my experience, also requires approximately 8-10% less diesel than the ATD, even with a DPF.

But the CAY can apparently also "Dröhnen" as described, at least according to my icon_sad.gif

(By the way, it's the gear shift indicator that wants you to shift into fourth gear at around 1050 RPM (50 km/h), not my desire to drive without touching the accelerator pedal.)

And page 21 states that the leaks prevent them from functioning properly.

Hm, you're right, I should definitely double-check. I need to wait for warmer weather first, as the parts are quite bulky (especially on the gearbox side), and unfortunately, I'm more of an outdoor person.
