Hello,
I have a T4 pickup truck on my property with an ACV engine that I rebuilt myself. Since the customer will never pay for it, I'm considering keeping the engine in stock as a replacement for the AHY engine in my own T4.
If I replace all the components, it should fit, right?
Or are there any significant differences? Passat TDI PD AWX 12/2000

The compression ratio varies depending on the model, and the crankshaft mechanism is reinforced.
Only the bare block and the complete head are truly identical. MfG. Michael

Is everything legally clarified?
Even if you've rebuilt the engine, all the old parts, like the engine block, should still belong to the customer, regardless of any reservation of ownership clauses. Sommer: A4 B5 Avant 2,5 TDI Quattro Facelift (AKN silber)

Legally cleared ??? The customer has just completed bankruptcy proceedings and now has an active arrest warrant to enforce a sworn statement. They haven't contacted me for 3 months. Also, the car is still here with me! I'm getting €2600 for engine repair and clutch conversion on EMS. The car has issues with the exhaust, seats, starter, battery, and the control arm bushings. The ESP system is also faulty. What am I supposed to do besides taking the engine out again? I'm now working with a debt collection agency and checking customer information beforehand for large orders. It costs me a whole €4, not €2600...
According to the online catalogs of my suppliers, engines with cylinder heads (without attachments) have the same part numbers for ACV, AXG, AHY, AJT, etc. There are already three different types of head gaskets available for all of them. The pistons are also the same, as are the camshaft, valves, and valve guides. Passat TDI PD AWX 12/2000

Hello!
Yes, I would also take care of the legal aspects first.
A pickup truck like that sounds like it's being used for commercial purposes. It's best to leave it alone, document it, and you can charge a parking fee. That can add up to almost your entire bill over a year. Grüße, Steffen!

The older, weaker AJT/ACV parts have been phased out over the years because it was simply decided that the stronger ones also work with less power, and this allows for savings in storage costs. MfG. Michael
