Hello,
While browsing (virtual) catalogs for a potential successor to our ASZ-Polo, we also found that the fatigue warning system is included in the current Polo and Golf models, and we would have to purchase it if we choose an acceptable engine performance and the associated equipment package.
Is it possible to disable this function (via a switch or VCDS coding/adjustment), in case it becomes annoying due to frequent, unnecessary activations in everyday use? Gruß Ulf

At least with the A4 8K, the driver drowsiness detection system can be permanently disabled through the menu. It should actually be the same for other models as well. Just have it demonstrated.

I've had my Golf for almost a year now, and I've never received a warning, even though I've driven when I was tired (but not excessively so!). I haven't seen any reports of similar issues in other forums either. Therefore, I think it only activates when the driver is truly overly tired and the situation becomes risky. Golf 7 GTI

What exactly is being detected there? Driving behavior, overall impression of appearance based on stored images, breathing rate, blink rate???

Hi, according to Wikipedia:
"...One approach involves monitoring lane keeping between lane markings by analyzing images from a video camera.[1] Such markings are particularly common on well-maintained roads, and this type of accident is often concentrated on those types of roads." The underlying assumption is that drivers who are becoming drowsy begin to subtly swerve back and forth between the lane markings.
Another approach involves continuous, subtle monitoring of steering movements, as these tend to change relatively early on when a person becomes drowsy. They make smaller steering errors, which are often corrected quickly and abruptly...
I am unable to translate "haithamina" because it does not appear to be a word or phrase in the German language. It may be a misspelling, a proper noun, or a term from a specialized field. If you can provide more context or clarify the intended meaning, I would be happy to assist you with the translation. 3G5, 110 kW, DFGA, TGV, Variant HL 2018-

Hello,
Our company's Superb has a driver fatigue warning system that monitors steering movements. It occasionally triggers, but I can't really see a clear connection between feeling tired and the system activating, so I'm inclined to disable it.
Bye.
