WIV reset on VW Polo 9N TDI (Solution)

"Since the codes in the adaptation channels for the 9N sometimes differ from the values described for models like the Golf and Passat, here are my experiences resetting the Water Injection System (WIV) with VAGCOM after receiving a service reminder on the instrument cluster (model year 2004 / the WIV should remain active)."

Open AI (address 17) and select "Adaptation."

In the channels.
40 = Distance traveled in 100 km since last service.
41 = Days since last service.
47 = total oil soot load since the last service.
48 = total thermal oil wear since last service.
Enter zero for each field and save.

Then, also enter zero in channel 2 (which indicates "service due?") and save the settings.
If the "1" remains selected, an oil service will still be scheduled even if the counters for mileage, operating time, and oil consumption have been reset.


"In channel 45 means:"
2 = Longlife oil has been filled, or the maintenance interval indicator is active (not "4" as with other TDIs).
1 = fixed maintenance intervals.

If the AI was set to a fixed interval (Channel 45: Value 1), it may be necessary to adjust the settings in the following channels.
42 = Minimum distance (in 100 km) to the next service station: Value 150.
43 = Maximum distance (in 100 km) to the next service: Value 500.
44 = max. days until next service: value 730.
49 = min. days until next service: value 365.
and saved as "2" in channel 45 (of course).
(However, I haven't verified this, as my factory-enabled WIV is still running.)

As a precaution, all values should be checked again after the inputs have been entered.
This can also be done in "reading measurement values" mode.
Starting from MWB 12, you can view the contents of the adaptation channels. In window 1 and 3, you will find the number of a WIV adaptation channel (starting from 40), and in window 2 or 4, respectively, you will find the corresponding value, as described above.
