Hello.

Yesterday, I had my first WRC experience at the VCDS-Lappi.

What particularly struck me was:
1. There is no label file available for the MSG.
2. With the ESP, it is not possible to read out any diagnostic trouble codes (DTCs) or individual measurement values. icon_eek.gif

Are these specific data points missing from the VCDS database?
Alternatively, could I use a different label file from a MED 9.1 engine for the MSG?

Here's the STG scan and an MWB scan of the MSG.
Gruß Ulf

Hi Ulf,

Please create .pla and .plb files (both) for the engine control units that do not have a corresponding label file.

Best regards, Rainer.

Ulf, what have you cobbled together there? If I'm going to help you, I need to be able to rely on the fact that there isn't some random mishmash on your computer, but rather the installation package that I specified. icon_idea.gif

I am not aware of any wrongdoing.
There might be a few old, custom-made LBL files in the user label folder (could this trigger the WunderTüte data?), but the rest of the installation is RKS 12.12.2.0.

It's possible that I moved the 12.12.2.0 installation to a different partition.
Should I reinstall them completely?

PLA and PLB filaments are coming soon.

Regarding errors:
Ulf, have you checked where the surge is coming from?

I suspect it's from cable work with the battery disconnected, during which I had plugged a backup battery into the 12V socket.
The errors in today's scan are likely due to the fact that I had removed the RNS unit -> just ignore them.

Here it is, with a fresh, new installation.
icon_arrow.gif the new vehicle scan.
icon_arrow.gif PLA and PLB forms for the MSG in ZIP format.
icon_arrow.gif and something about the ESP-StG. It didn't release any PLA or PLB data, but only the admap.

But now, with the ESP-StG, I at least have the option "Advanced Measurements" (?), so that I can, for example, log the individual wheel speeds.

I just found the file "06F-907-115-AXX.lbl" in the label path: it seems to fit well with the PLB file from my MSG.

I'll try those out.

@Rainer:
It wasn't until now that I realized that VCDS can't connect to the radio part of the RNS315, but it can connect to the navigation part.
Therefore, the radio address 56 is probably also missing in the Scanlog.

Interestingly, in the "Installed" section of the VCDS software, it initially displays "56 Radio."
If I try to access the StG 56, I get the error message "StG is not responding" after a few attempts. Subsequently, the "56 Radio" button disappears from the "Installed" tab in VCDS.

That would be something to fix in the next VCDS release.

The aforementioned label file seems to be compatible with the CDLJ engine.

Okay, I'll keep that in mind... but for now, the RNS315 has been removed and a 1-DIN radio is installed.
If I ever have a lot of time, I'll try putting the RNS315 back in the car for a test run.

Approximately 0.5kg icon_lol.gif.

But that's not the main reason... what's more important is that I can/could fit another LDA (likely a small electronic device) into the compartment under the flat-screen radio.

It's a shame about the beautiful car. I'm not really surprised that the old Polo is just sitting there unsold.
Surely, a lane departure warning system could be integrated digitally, either through the vehicle's infotainment system (FIS) or the navigation system. Alternatively, it could be connected analogously to the A-pillar.
