Hi,

I recently purchased a Toledo AHF as my winter car.
Once I have the necessary equipment at home, I have optimized the software a bit for efficiency, meaning I have also increased the torque a bit in the lower speed range.

Although I increased the amount by 2000 1/min while only increasing it by 5mg, I experienced an extremely unpleasant torque noise in this speed range. This feels like it's back to the days when aftermarket tuning boxes were common on these engines, and people would push them to their limits.
5mg represents approximately 25Nm more, and engines with identical specifications can easily handle this without the associated noise in the drivetrain.
Two-mass swing behaves normally (no shaking in the LL, quantity deviations constant), where else can I look for an error?

Thank you, I will watch it tonight.

Detail at the edge: at the motor mount for the timing belt, the screws were loose... it made a lot of noise...

Then I checked again yesterday, and indeed - the rubber buffer on the back of the torque arm is hanging loose...

EDIT: The clutch has been swapped, and the humming is gone. Unfortunately, I still have an unpleasant vibration in the drivetrain, which I suspect is in the left drive shaft joint. That definitely has potential...

HI

I also had a humming noise with the standard BLS and I was also suspecting the motor mounts.
/viewtopic.php?t=25124&highlight=torque

How are the two semi-bearings in the axle body "mounted"?

Secured with a screw?
Or pressed, so simply difficult to change with a roller?

Visually, there's nothing to criticize.

It seems like the shaking is getting worse and worse. Currently, I'm at a series dose (43mg @ 2000 1/min) and the injection starts 2 degrees from the OT (Original Position), and the car is shaking so much that the phone in the center console (under the ashtray) is practically jumping.

However, this is not always the case, sometimes it is better, sometimes it is worse.

...such a violent shaking shouldn't really come from the drivetrain.

How do you mean? the suspension components that connect the front axle to the frame or the load-bearing parts of the chassis?

Maybe we should start there? icon_wink.gif

Possibly, one of the internal joints is also stuck.

I am referring to this warehouse:
/download.php?id=5528

It also consists of two halves - an upper and a lower one.
Can they be replaced if the central screw is out, or are they really pressed in?

Finally got him on stage yesterday, looks completely different than in the Toledo...

Now, I suspect that the problem is more likely due to the drive shaft bearings, as both show significant play. Exchange will bring clarity icon_smile.gif

Is there anything new?

Our golf (MJ08, still with the old version of the steering column) is now making quite a bit of noise.

I'm afraid of the drilling and filling process.

No, not yet. Once winter is over, I need to replace the ZMS and drive shafts... Currently, they are at the mechanic's shop, where a blind and deaf old woman drove in who didn't know any priority rules icon_evil.gif

LOL, ours is finished again (after a crash).

Then I'm hoping for an update soon.

I don't understand it.

Whenever it's cold, our BLS makes a humming sound, similar to a pig, in the range of up to 1400.

Is the weather warm (summer) or can one imagine a certain warming of the entire car due to radiation from the engine, is it less or gone.

Unfortunately, the ZR change (motor bearing removal) coincided perfectly with the weather change, so I can't attribute it to any specific event.

However, since I was already lamenting last autumn, it is probably quite certain about the temperature.

Let's brainstorm and hear your ideas on what I could test first to find the root cause.
