Audi Q7: Install Body Control Module from Another Car

Hello, after a theft from my Q7, the body control module II and the seat memory control unit were also stolen. A used replacement can be quickly obtained. However, I've been told that these control units have a so-called "component protection" feature from the factory and cannot be installed in other vehicles without being registered online with Audi through an authorized dealership.
Is that correct? Can anyone comment on this?

Okay, component protection needs to be adjusted by Audi. I'm not sure to what extent this applies to the control unit you mentioned (not all "components" are protected).
