Hi,
Since my Octavia is nearing the end of its life, I need to find a replacement.
Currently, we are interested in three Touran models with the 1.9 TDI engine.
(77 kW).
Two of them are "Blue Motion" models, each with approximately 100,000 km, and one "standard" model with 70,000 km.
The specified average fuel consumption is 5.2 liters (BM) or 6.0 liters.
Unfortunately, Spritmonitor doesn't allow you to differentiate between premium (BM) and regular gasoline.
(at least, I haven't managed to do it).
The situation at BM might be different.
- lägerer 6. Gang.
- Fuel-efficient tires (at least until the first replacement).
- Improved aerodynamics (more underbody panels, fewer holes in the front).
- possibly lowered suspension.
- possibly other software.
I drive approximately 30,000 km per year. Of that, 20,000 km are on highways with speed limits.
Approximately 7000 kilometers were driven on country roads, and the rest was driven in the city (if one can even speak of a city in Schleswig-Holstein icon_twisted.gif).
My question is whether the difference in consumption between the BM model and the standard model is actually reflected in real-world usage.
or whether the whole thing becomes relative.

Best regards,
Micha

The Bluemotion model should also have a simpler and lighter equipment configuration, depending on the production year. You might also want to consider the absence of comfort features.

The year of construction is 2010 for all of them.
The equipment is quite similar between the two models. In the case of the BM model, the specification was...
Two electric windows in the front. Possibly, the standard model also has them in the rear.

Hello Micha,

I don't believe there's a difference of 0.8 liters, but a little less is definitely possible.

A longer wheelbase, underbody panels, and other aerodynamic features of the chassis will make a bigger difference in fuel consumption, especially at higher speeds. Based on this, your driving profile seems like a good fit for potentially benefiting from the BMW.

Overall, the larger Touran likely has a higher CW (drag coefficient) value than an Octavia. Also, the steeply sloped rear end might not necessarily have a positive effect at higher speeds. Based purely on the fuel-efficient body design, I would suggest that you choose an Octavia sedan icon_wink.gif.

Greetings.
Sure.

Here is the translation of the text from German to English:

"Guste" is a German word that means "gust" or "gust of wind." It can also be used as a verb, meaning "to gust" or "to blow."

Here are some examples of how the word "Guste" can be used:

* "Der Guste wehte stark." (The gust of wind blew strongly.)
* "Der Wind gustete." (The wind gusted.)
* "Ich gustete." (I gusted.)

I hope this helps!

Does the "Normalae" have 6 gears, or only 5?

If the car has a "Best Mileage" (BM) start-stop system, and the other doesn't, a significant portion of the fuel efficiency advantage (as measured on a test bench) comes from this feature. However, the real-world difference you experience in your driving is likely to be only marginal. A longer gear ratio is probably the most important factor, and I suspect that the aerodynamic differences between the two cars are not very significant within a reasonable speed range.

The "Normale" model also has 6 gears, but in the BM version, the gears 3 through 6 have longer gear ratios.
It seems that we have now also found a BM icon_smile.gif.
Yesterday I took it for a test drive... okay, no wonder it's not very responsive, but it gets going pretty well.
It has everything that's important to us. The mileage and price are acceptable.

Best regards,
Micha

Not surprisingly, it's not very lively, but it gets the job done quite well.

It was to be expected - the BM models feel a bit slower due to the longer wheelbase. However, this shouldn't be a major factor for your driving style.
