Okay, here are my main points:
Are the glow plugs actually defective, or could it be the wiring?
2. Why is the engine control unit (ECU) not aware of the DPF's loading status? Was the DPF possibly deactivated?

When the DPF is deactivated, the exhaust turbocharger temperature sensor should normally read -293°C; however, this may be different with this specific control unit.

Interestingly, the car runs normally and starts well even in temperatures as low as -10°C.

The glow plugs probably aren't completely defective yet.
The control unit detects when components are no longer functioning at 100%, consider the power consumption.

I'm not sure whether the 2.7 or the 3.0 model has the ceramic spark plugs.
As long as they are still working, you can try to burn off any excess fuel before replacing them. Whether that will actually help is another matter. Otherwise, use the thinnest synthetic oil you have, fill the holes where the glow plugs are located, get the engine really hot, and then try to see if they come out.

These are ceramic glow plugs, and when opening them, no more than 15 Nm of torque should be applied, otherwise the manufacturer warns of damage.

If ceramic spark plugs are installed, they should be replaced with steel ones. Do not attempt to start the engine without having the engine control unit reprogrammed beforehand.

Whether you have ceramic or steel candles inside, you need to do some research. There's a red and a white ring on the candles that distinguishes them.

What about the DPF? Why are the readings showing as 0?

Why do they need to be exchanged? Couldn't they just be replaced?

The ceramic glow plugs were prone to failure, which could then lead to engine damage, and were therefore replaced with steel glow plugs. Because the control system for the steel glow plugs is different from that of the ceramic glow plugs, the engine control unit (!) must be adjusted.

I was therefore surprised because, in our technical article "Information about glow plug electrodes (spark plugs)," the ceramic variant was supposed to, at least in theory, last longer than the operating life of the engine. Apparently, this has not been confirmed in practice.

Is it correct that glow plugs with a red ring are made of steel, and those with a white ring are made of ceramic?

I'm surprised that yours doesn't have a color marking on it. That means the safest method is to remove one and check which version is installed to avoid any surprises.

Yes, but the fact that the DPF is off and showing dead AGT/DPF values cannot be explained by that alone. Since the DPF is essentially acting as a "muffler" in this case, the car is almost designed for it...

Therefore, I'm sure that this doesn't have genuine software installed, but that doesn't change anything about your glow plug problem.

The spark plugs will be replaced soon.
