I'm having a small mapping issue with an ESP.

"Jnd." sold me this ESP (Electronic Stability Program) module as an "AFN pump" from a Golf 3.

Can you tell from the picture if this pump is from an AFN engine?

So, that picture is a lost cause.

From a certain angle, all VP37s look the same.

What does it mean that the part number is completely illegible? It appears to be stamped or laser-etched. With a fine abrasive cloth and some care, it's definitely possible to make it readable again. Unless someone intentionally tried to obscure it.

In the pump shown in the picture, it appears that the timing of fuel delivery is not adjusted by rotating the pump itself (unlike my AFN pump, which has elongated holes in the pump mounting bracket!), but rather by adjusting the position of the rotor on the shaft.

If everything else fits, I would at least need another impeller...

I once had a problem where my ESP (Electronic Stability Program) failed.
"I then built one myself using a component from an EGR valve from a fourth-generation Golf and an ESP unit. It's been running for about 50,000 km now, but the one from an AFN engine in a third-generation Golf was identical in terms of the connector."
