Hello,
I have a Volkswagen Golf 6 from October 2010 that is experiencing the following problem.
Inspection completed, including all filters.
Fuel system bled using VCDS.
By the way, the engine is a CAYC 1.6 CR.
Insert the ignition key and turn it to start.
Starter motor is turning, but the engine isn't starting.
Key released, starter continues to spin in the "on" position.
"The starter motor only disengages after the clutch is depressed (start/stop function), or if the ignition is turned off, it also stops. Question: How is this possible?"

Some vehicles today only require a short pulse to start. The control units activate the starter motor for as long as it takes to detect a successful engine start, or until a timeout (e.g., 20 seconds) occurs.
This likely applies to most keyless vehicles with a start button. All vehicles equipped with the start-stop system already have the necessary hardware on board to automatically engage the starter motor, so it might even be possible to enable this feature through coding.
I can't say what applies to your Golf VI. However, the term "restart" doesn't seem inherently wrong to me.
Unfortunately, I can't guess what went wrong during the filter change from here. If the error memory doesn't provide any clues, I would focus on the diesel filter issue.
Greetings.
Sure.
Here is the translation of the text from German to English:
"Guste" means "gust" in English. It can also be used as a verb, meaning "to gust."

Hi there!
"This is normal with the automatic start-up. As I described, my A3 does the same thing. The two cars share the same technical platform. Even though I tried bleeding it using VCDS and kept the pump running for minutes, it didn't work. Ultimately, it probably gurgled for about 1 minute (I think I wrote about that somewhere before)."
During the next filter change, I will try to pre-fill the filter housing. I suspect that otherwise, an air bubble might be forced towards the injectors.
