Hello.
I just had the engine of my A6 washed this week.
Before reattaching, I disconnected all the connectors and blew out any dust or dirt that might be lodged in the connector seals using compressed air. Before reconnecting, I applied a shot of silicone spray to both ends of each connector to help them slide together smoothly, create a seal, and repel water.
Then go to the gas station with a self-service pressure washer; they all have oil separators there, and it's allowed to use them for that purpose.
I haven't had good experiences with cold cleaners, especially because you end up with the smell of it for a long time, spreading through the interior via the heating system

.
I have had very good experiences with "Gut und Günstig."

Made. Price: 2 euros per bottle.
Aluminum and plastic parts become perfectly clean and even shine. It dries very well and is also biodegradable.
I keep the motor running because the rotational movement helps to keep water and dirt away from the belt drive/throws it off.
Okay. Turn off the heater fan and close the recirculation vent

.
The result was great, no problems. I took another short ride afterwards so everything could dry out from the engine heat.
Regards, Mpire.
