Hello.

Can the elasticity values of a tuned Audi A4 (B7) be looked up?
60 - 100 im 4. Time = 6.1 seconds.
80 - 120 im 5. Cycle time = 8.0 seconds.

My friend's modified Volkswagen Golf 3, with its large turbocharger, performs only slightly better, with times of 6.2 and 9.1 seconds.

Okay, the translations might not match exactly, but those discrepancies won't be "taken into account" in such comparisons -> 4th gear is 4th gear, and that's that.

If you were to revert the KW-tuned Golf 4 to its original 150 horsepower, that particular "piece of junk" Golf 3 might even be significantly superior icon_twisted.gif.

But that the feeling of acceleration can also be increased through lightweight vehicles rather than through horsepower excesses, is something that hardly anyone thinks about anymore, considering the tempting complete equipment and ostentatious features icon_cry.gif.

Well, I once saw a test bench report for a PD_115. It had a VTN 20 (I think the original one was a VTN17) installed, producing 191 horsepower and 538 Nm of torque at 2100 RPM. After a Sachs sports clutch was installed, the torque was also transferred to the road. The original LUK clutch only lasted 5000 km under that load before slipping. icon_smile.gif

Der Wagen hat übrigens mittlerweile 73.000km runter, ohne Probs! That's awesome!

If you think about it... a 1.9 TDI engine has 130 horsepower and, as standard, can sometimes produce up to 368 Nm of torque; so, 390 Nm isn't exactly impressive, is it? icon_wink.gif

edit/
If I may quote your signature, I also find KW's obsession with horsepower to be excessive!

0-49 mph: 5.51 seconds.
0-100 km/h: 7.92 seconds.
80-120 km/h 3. Time: 4.98 seconds.

60-120 km/h 6. Time: 16.83 seconds.
Top speed: 221 km/h.
Speedometer reading: 100 km/h, actual speed: 99 km/h.
Test consumption (average): 7.6 liters of diesel (non-ethanol icon_wink.gif).
Weight: 1470 kg (when fully fueled).

Maximum torque: 414 Nm at 2300 rpm.
145 kW (198 hp) at 4000 rpm.

I don't find these values very impressive!

'Today I test drove the new A3 2.0 TDI. While I was waiting (the previous test driver was stuck in traffic), the salesperson gave me a report from AUTO Motor und Sport. It stated the elasticity figures as 6.2 seconds in fourth gear and 8.5 seconds in fifth gear.'

With a manual speedometer, it also fell within that range with its 225 tires and 17-inch rims!

My chipped AFN engine in my A4 Avant also falls within this range!

Regards,

Manuel.

The cheapest tuning is still weight reduction!!! icon_wink.gif

While it's not exactly cheap, the Opel Speedster is an example of that 'fresh thinking' we were talking about.

945 kg with 147 horsepower -> 80-120 km/h in 5th gear, 0-100 km/h in 8.3 seconds.
