Touareg V10: Bleed Additive System (Coding II)

For a few weeks now, I've been an interested reader in this great forum. Thank you to everyone for all the useful information that can be found here. I would now like to ask a question myself.

As a new VCDS user, I have been exploring the program and came across the following note under "Engine Electronics/Coding II": "29563 = Bleed additive system (2 strokes, see MWB 072/2)". See the two screenshots (hopefully the insertion worked).

I recently added the additive to my Touareg V10 (BLE) myself, but I've never read anything about bleeding the system. I also couldn't find anything about it in the forum.

Does anyone know what "coding-ii" refers to in VCDS? What exactly is being deactivated? Why is it being deactivated? What can happen if you don't deactivate it?

This is only necessary after maintenance work on the system that goes beyond simply refilling the tank. This includes things like replacing the pipe or the pump, especially if air has entered the system.

I can only speculate. My guess is that the level sensor has a very low resolution, and the actual fuel level is estimated by the control unit, taking into account the mileage and driving behavior.

Your tank would therefore be less than empty, at least according to the control unit. Why don't you simply refuel?
