Diodes 20 cent tuning

Hello, I did the tuning with Docsnydor,:roll:unfortunately, he (1Z) is quite 'wobbly' at idle.?Unfortunately, I haven't become any wiser from your description, as I don't know why and where should I install the diodes before or after the resistor. And what does 'anti-parallel' mean? Does it mean in series??Also, thank you in advance for the instructions for dummies =)

'parallel zur Pumpe' between cable 2 and 3 is correct.
Also, there is also the option with 2 antiparallel diodes (1 N 4148 or similar) in series with the (smaller) resistor, and then the whole thing between pin 2 and 3.
This reduces/eliminates idle problems and, according to experience, produces more steam at higher speeds, which should be better tolerated by TDIs than a crazy torque peak at 2000 rpm, according to chiptuners.

So,
the thing with the diodes is: they are smaller than the resistors and also don't have colored bands. They are in a round glass casing, usually red, and have a black ring on one side (the negative terminal) (Type 1N4148). That's how to identify the components.
Connecting diodes in antiparallel works like this:
Place both diodes side by side, with the rings pointing upwards. One diode with the ring upwards, the other with the ring downwards. Now solder the two upper wires together and the two lower wires as well. A 'new component' has been created. Now you can connect a resistor in series with this. The polarity of the components no longer matters, as it doesn't matter for resistors anyway, and the two diodes are now connected in antiparallel.
Diodes are a type of electrical valve. The current can only flow through the diode in one direction. By connecting the diodes in antiparallel, the current can now flow in both directions again. Similar to a spring valve, there is a certain pressure drop in the diodes. This effect is needed for the 20ct tuning, so that the tuning only starts at higher speeds.
All clear?For the resistor, I recommend you to take an adjustable resistor. These are sold under the names: Trimmer, Spindeltrimmer or Potentiometer.

Hallo,

habe heute mal das mit den Dioden (1N4148) getestet. Habe sie wie oben beschrieben zusammengelötet und dann in Reihe zwischen Schalter und Poti eingesetzt. War aber keine Verbesserung zu merken (Das 10 ct Tuning ohne Dioden hat funktioniert)
Habe ich da irgendetwas falsch gemacht.
Auf welchen Wert muß das Poti eingestellt werden um eine Verbesserung zu spüren, habe beim 10 ct so ca. 880 - 900 Ohm eingestellt?
