Hello everyone,
My (independent) workshop repaired my A4.
We now want to reset the front crash sensors, but VCDS unfortunately doesn't offer a login option for this.
It would be great if someone could help us!
I would consider purchasing a one-hour access to the repair manuals for Audi vehicles and checking the correct procedures (it costs less than 20€, probably even less than 10€).
It is possible that the crash sensors, and possibly the control unit as well, will need to be replaced. However, I don't know if that applies to your vehicle.
Of course, you can find providers online who offer to reset this for you. However, I would carefully consider whether it's a good idea to have a security-critical component reset by a third party. If it doesn't fire next time, it will be investigated, and that could literally be a double unpleasant situation.
The question of liability is clear and rests with the master workshop.
The process is coordinated with an Audi workshop that supplies the parts.
It can be reset, but Audi doesn't make this clear, as it is stipulated in the StG (likely referring to a specific law or regulation).
