Intake Manifold Deposits: Cleaning Guide

Hello.

Since I plan to clean my intake manifold and EGR valve soon, I'm wondering what the best way to do it is.

Burning off with, for example, gasoline - isn't that too hot? Could it damage the exhaust manifold?
(crooked) ?

With chemical means - with which ones?

What do you need to replace seals?

Maybe someone has experience with this?

The best way is to use brake cleaner.

But what exactly does "verschrotten mit Benzin" mean?

Hmm, the magic word is brake cleaner.

You can free the AGR valve using this method, some rags, and, in case of carbon buildup, a flat-head screwdriver.
You should also clean the exhaust manifold, but you'll likely have better luck using a cloth to get into the curves.
It's best to replace the gaskets and bolts (screws) on the intake manifold.

*laughing* That's a case of word transformation gone wrong. "verschrotten" is automatically translated to "verschrotten" (to wreck/destroy), so people don't start asking how to... uh... "verschrotten" their exhaust...

Otherwise, gasoline can also help, but more for priming than for actually lighting something.

Besides preventing inappropriate posts (like burning out exhaust systems, etc.), this function also serves my own security.
This feature actually mitigates some legally questionable content as soon as a contribution is submitted.
Because I really have no interest in being held accountable as an admin for nonsense that someone writes here. And you can get a cease and desist letter very quickly.

Anyone who writes such ridiculous nonsense is to blame for it (and I'm not talking about voss - he used that word in a different context!).
