Coding the service interval display on Golf III (Solution)

The service interval display can be coded according to the following list. This is, for example, necessary after a change of instruments.


When the ignition is switched on, press and hold the button below the speed indicator.

By pressing the minute button on the digital clock or the button for setting the analog clock, the setting mode is activated.
On the distance indicator, the text "OEL1.S." appears.

By pressing the button below the speed indicator again, the following display appears sequentially: OEL2.S, IN01.S, IN02.S.

Oil1.S Mileage Counter for Engine Oil Change
Oil 2.S Mileage Counter for Engine Oil Change
IN01.S Inspection Service Counter every 12 months
IN02.S Mileage Counter for Inspection Service every 30,000 km

Note:
The ".S" stands for Set Mode.
By pressing the button to set the analog clock or the minute button of the digital clock, the remaining distance or time until the service event is displayed.

By pressing the button again, the distance counter will be reset in increments of 500km and the time counter will be reset in increments of 1 month. After the smallest value, the largest value appears again.

If the ignition is switched off or the engine is started, the set mode will be exited.
