hello
I have a 1992 Audi 80 TDI.
and it's already rusting during normal driving!
I had it checked by Audi, and they said everything was okay on the intake side.
turbo is still great, and and and...
'But it's still rusting, and they said it's because it has 250,000 kilometers on it!'
I think that's nonsense because the engine itself is still in excellent condition. I only use half a liter of oil for 10,000 kilometers.
I personally suspect the fuel injectors.
So, does anyone know anything more specific, and how can I check things without spending a lot of money?
It certainly wouldn't hurt to replace the nozzles during the LL (low-level) process. The issue of the nozzles has been discussed controversially in the forum on several occasions.
Check the exhaust gas recirculation valve, if it's already present on the '92 TDI .
-> Search function "AGR"
I assume you have a clean air filter/fuel filter . You should also take a look at the mass airflow sensor (MAF) }.
