Oops.
Whoever can read will also have a clear advantage this time.
Ein konzentrierter Blick in die Betriebsanleitung hat das Geheimnis gelüftet. Das hätte ich besser tun sollen, bevor ich dieses Posting abschickte. MIt's my fault!!!!
I've also been considering whether I should just delete it. Rainer can feel free to do so if he thinks it's appropriate.
To make all of this make sense, here's some "substantial" information for those of you who didn't know it, just like I did:
Resetting the service interval indicator (prior to model year 1999).
Hold down the right button (daily mileage) and then turn on the ignition.
"OEL" now appears on the display. Simply drag it to the left using the left button (clock), and the entry will be deleted. "---" will then appear on the display.
By pressing the right button again, you can also reset the "Inspection" event. After pressing, "INS" will appear on the display. If you pull the left button again, this entry will also be deleted.
And all of this was done without a laptop or VAG-COM. Praise be to all simple solutions.
Regards,
Alex.
