Message after connection test: CAN: Not ready

After my laptop gave up, I got a new one and installed VCDS on it.

During the connection test on my Passat, the message "CAN: not ready" (photo below) appeared.

To rule out the possibility that the problem is in my electronics, I repeated the connection test on a 2012 Audi A6.
With the same result.

Very likely, I will now need the initial installation of VCDS.
I have installed the February 2026 update.
