Hello,

Do you only need to open the two quick-release fasteners when changing the air filter on an AFN? If there's nothing else to consider, I guess I could probably manage it, even with my two left hands icon_biggrin.gif.

Regards,

Tobias.

I don't know the exact AFN right now. However, with the engine types I've worked with, it was either like that, or at least similarly simple. Even someone with only one hand could probably change that part... icon_lol.gif

Hello,

hm, I sometimes have a hard time with plastic parts - they tend to break easily for me. I didn't want to take my car to the dealership for a comprehensive inspection anymore, but rather do the maintenance work myself that I am capable of. However, it would be bad if I were to cause a bigger problem icon_confused.gif.
I will try to open the air vent carefully.
I forgot: Clean it first - that's obvious icon_smile.gif.

Regards,

Tobias.

PS: Sorry, I misspelled the title.

Hi,

When you are standing in front of the engine compartment, you will see the top of the airbox on the left-hand side.
You open the two latches and unscrew the mass airflow sensor (MAF) from the airbox (2 x 10mm screws) or loosen the clamp between the MAF and the connecting pipe. Then you can pull the top part to the right. icon_smile.gif

Greetings.
Thomas.

Hello Thomas,

It seems to be a bit more complicated than I thought. Are there any nuts attached to the screws that could fall into the air filter box? I looked at the clamp yesterday evening, but I don't know how to remove it.

Regards,

Tobias.

Hi,

The nuts cannot fall inside.
You can attach the clamp with a regular pair of pliers. Simply squeeze it tightly together. icon_wink.gif

See you later.
Thomas.

Hello,

Okay, that's enough for now. I hope the air filter housing is found, that nothing falls into any pipes, and that the air filter housing is sealed again afterwards.

This is not the right forum for questions about how to remove a hose clamp.

Check if there's a suitable book at /viewtopic.php?t=3047.

Best regards, Rainer.
