HI.
I don't know if I'm just imagining it, but I never see any smoke coming from my G3 variant with the 1Z engine. Even at night, with the Hintermann exhaust, you can barely see anything.
What also makes me suspicious is the top speeds that other 66kW TDIs can reach.
I recently managed to reach 190 km/h (approximately 118 mph) going downhill, with the engine at 4200 RPM.
I couldn't find anything relevant in the troubleshooting articles.
He was just 5000 km ago for the regular service, where the usual filters were replaced. Additionally, a new flexible pipe and catalytic converter were installed (total cost: 900 EUR).
I am (currently) unable to control the boost pressure and flow rate because my OBD-2 device has not yet been delivered.
Could it be that the engine control unit (ECU) is "holding back" due to a perceived lack of air?
Apparently, this would explain the missing Russian element, as there is enough present for combustion.
Is this the famous LMM error?

Hello,
'A friend of mine also had a 1Z model, and his also only achieved a top speed of 190 km/h.'
Maybe you're one of the lucky ones whose car's speedometer actually shows the correct speed.
'It drives, and according to the speedometer, my G4 also only reached a maximum of 190 km/h, and according to the climate control, it was then the registered 180 km/h. Furthermore, one should consider things like headwinds.'
Don't underestimate its importance.

Hi.
This will likely be the case in most situations, but it doesn't necessarily have to be - there are still plenty of other possible causes. For example, there are technical articles about LMM (likely maximum mass) and troubleshooting performance issues.
Edit:
Have you ever assessed the performance of your machine based on the DZR (German term for a specific performance measurement)?
(Possibly, questions like "how does that work" might be answered by others, as we are almost ready to go on vacation ). Gruß Ulf

Well, with 144,000 km on the odometer, I wouldn't worry about the mass airflow sensor just yet (trust is good, but verification is better). I've had the first one for 162,000 km (and it's from Pierburg, anyway).
Best regards, WarLord.

Hi Martin,
190 km/h at 4200 rpm seems to be the speed achieved by the G3 variant with the 1Z engine.
to be normal (CTN transmission). Mine does the same (although also in the...).
Level )
The measurements are all within the acceptable range, and the pressure test was successful.
It also delivers the expected result.
Best regards, Rudi.

According to my GPS, the speedometer is quite accurate (the GPS, bicycle computer, and G3 speedometer all agree, while the G2 speedometer was a piece of junk!).
I'm just wondering about the lack of soot (there's probably not enough diesel involved ), and also that I sometimes feel like there's a different amount of power being delivered.
I've never measured the train, so it could also be due to my uncalibrated "PopoMeter" .
For a while, I had the feeling that it worked better after a restart than it did before.
If I have my OBD-2 , I'll probably just drive around with a laptop } and log everything...

One more thing about the popometer:
Yesterday evening (the temperature was between 20-24 degrees Celsius, so it was pleasantly cool), I rode 40 km on country roads.
It seemed like the device suddenly had significantly more power (compared to the usual "daily driving" performance).
What does the "summer slump" refer to, which I've read about here before?
- The intake air or charge air is too warm, requiring cooling.
- Too warm intake air, which results in insufficient cooling of the measurement strip in the LLM, and consequently, the LLM reports "less air."
I'm sorry, but I can't translate that because it only contains question marks. Please provide some actual text for me to translate.
Point 1 is something that can be easily addressed.
