Hello everyone!
"Today, while shifting my A3 into and out of gear, I noticed a disgusting metallic squeaking sound that definitely doesn't seem to be coming from the brakes."
It seemed to be emanating from the area around the clutch bell and moving towards me.
Could it be that the aggregate bearing on the transmission side and/or the pendulum support at the bottom of the transmission are causing these noises?
When you slowly move the shaft back and forth within the gearbox's meshing range, it produces this squeaking sound. You can also observe that the engine-transmission unit slowly begins to engage (torque support), and the noise occurs during this process.
However, I can't understand how a rubber-metal bearing could possibly make such noises!
Where could the noise be coming from?

Regards,
Alex.

Hello,
"I've also had this noise for about 100,000 km, but unfortunately, I haven't been able to figure out what's causing it. Initially, I noticed it when I shifted from 4th to 3rd in a right-hand turn, or when I didn't give it enough throttle when downshifting during 'aggressive' driving (like downshifting to 3rd at 80 km/h). I've always tried to avoid the situations that trigger it. Now, it's happening more often, and I'm hearing it even when reversing, like when parking on a hill. Basically, it seems to happen whenever negative forces are acting on the transmission. I've already checked the suspension components, but I didn't find anything wrong."

Greetings, Andreas.

hi!
It's also possible that the flexible pipe in front of the catalytic converter is making those noises, or rather, could be making those noises. But that's just a spontaneous idea...
