It's unbelievable how easily administrators here just close threads, simply because someone isn't considered 'smart' enough, and just wants to ask a question! It's as if they don't want anyone to read, especially someone who might be familiar with the topic and able to help, but no...

I checked the archive, and I saw that many people ask questions and are then directed to the archive, and their threads are then closed. Great admins, really, at least Rainer K.! and Michael II!

It's unbelievable the kind of attitude that's being expressed in more and more posts lately.

Following the motto: "Oops, here I am. Now everyone, pay attention to me."

Anyone who seeks advice here will receive it FREE OF CHARGE!
I fail to understand why people would insult those who provide this assistance.

@NicNac318:
What do you do with your specialized workshop if they can't find the problem, especially when they're charging a lot of money for it? Do you show up with a rocket launcher, or something like that?

@Rainer, Michael II, etc.:
Recently, I was also a bit annoyed by the fact that topics were being closed without explanation.
However, I thought your approach today was perfectly fine. There were tips and suggestions related to 'searching' (I can't stand that word). I think that's the right way to do it.
The problem, in my opinion, is that the search function is somewhat overshadowed by the forum layout.
It would need to be thick and vibrant, shining brightly in dazzling light (slightly exaggerated).

Also bist du mit der Bedienung der Suchfunktion vertraut! Or what?

Then try searching for "intake manifold pressure." Under "Tips & Tricks," "TDI," and "Troubleshooting," you'll find a wealth of articles that exactly describe your problem. If you have questions about these articles, there's certainly no problem with asking again (referring to the article).

A few days ago, I already mentioned that people here put a lot of effort into writing detailed articles, but others simply don't want to read them.

Damn, how did that guy manage to get registered?

I gave two suggestions about what the problem might be! You can read about the function of the AGR (Exhaust Gas Recirculation) in a technical article or in various online posts.

Ulf has extensively described turbocharging systems and troubleshooting methods in various technical articles.

Zu dem geschildertem Problem findet die Suchfunktion ca. 90 Threads. Reading educates.
The text does not mention how the AGR (Abgasrückführung) or the turbocharger/charge pressure system was tested.

Then they persistently nag and mindlessly blurt out "who knows the answer" when all it takes is reading! You don't need advice, you need a kick in the ass!

Okay, to be completely honest:

A search for 'performance loss' yields 192 results.

In the wonderful forum 'Troubleshooting and Guides,' there's an article about 'Common Causes of Errors' (which can also be found when searching for 'loss of power') that *exactly* describes your symptoms.

And now you come along and start being confrontational because I'm referring you to the search results and technical articles that contain everything necessary for troubleshooting and fixing the issue, all because of your standard error.

You should either get down from the carpet quickly or stop messing around!

CU Gremlin.

hello everyone,

'I'm also annoyed by the newbie threads that have been discussed countless times, and where there's usually enough information available to find the solution. Of course, it's easier to start a thread than to read 94 or however many articles! Unfortunately, this great forum has been flooded with such things lately! Then, the questioner always responds with rude and stupid comments to the moderators' gentle hints. Surely, that shouldn't be necessary? Reading is educational and certainly doesn't hurt. And if there's still something unclear or not understood, I'm sure everyone here is willing to help!'

I think the reactions from Bertil, MichaelII, Rainer & Co. are okay. They put in a lot of effort and enrich the technically excellent forum with their expertise. However, some of Rainer's personal attacks are less pleasant! One should perhaps reflect on that and maybe not immediately post every frustration. It might also be helpful to change the access requirements to make it more difficult for casual users to access the forum and only allow posting for those with a certain level of expertise.

Such nonsense like that will be deleted in the future, and the search function and my 100MB of database space are really too valuable for that!

I strongly support the 'simply delete' approach for such unqualified attacks. While it might annoy people like NicNac even more, we also need to expect a certain level of discipline from new users in the forum. This helps keep the forum clean of annoying threads and ultimately benefits the community as a whole.

@Rainer: How about including a note in the terms of service/FAQ along the lines of:
'1. Reading.
2. Reading.
3. Reading.
4. Post only after that.
(It might be helpful to provide more specific references to relevant articles or troubleshooting guides. Many beginner questions are already answered in these 11 articles. Only after reviewing these resources should users resort to searching and posting questions.)

Everyone is bound by the terms of service and may not complain if their posts are otherwise blocked or deleted.

Regards,
Private.

It's true that you don't always find what you're looking for with the search function - I've experienced that myself, BUT:

A forum thrives on people who share their experiences with others. This may not always be the same, which is why people discuss things.

But: One can expect everyone to familiarize themselves with the subject matter before criticizing a system operator.

If it were my forum, I wouldn't just delete some people's posts; I'd send a Terminator after them if I could. I try to read everything that's written here, but sometimes it just screams for compensation for pain and suffering.

Rainer & Co.: Deletes the nonsense before I have to read it...

'Remember: It's the tone that makes the music!'
And many of those who can afford to take a big risk here, without outside help, can't even distinguish between ESP and ABS!
