Hello everyone,
I'm having a major problem with my 1.9 TDI Golf Variant (100 hp), manufactured in October 2001.
'When the engine is cold, it runs perfectly fine. However, when it's warm, I have no power; it starts to jerk violently, and then the ESP control system activates. If I briefly turn off the ignition while driving, I might get lucky, and the problem disappears. VAG (Volkswagen Group) says that two injector pump elements are defective, but I'm not entirely convinced because they wouldn't work again after turning off the ignition.'I hope you can help me with this somehow.

Does anyone here have any idea what this could be?

Hello Quatrpitt!
Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with PD motors. Therefore, I can only make guesses, which may be incorrect!
Important and relevant information would include things like the engine code, the current mileage of the engine, etc.
The ESP light definitely indicates an engine malfunction. What error codes are stored in the system's memory?
Please read this carefully (or have it read) and post it here!
I believe I read somewhere (please correct me if I'm wrong) that PD engines sometimes have issues with the speed sensor located on the cylinder head.
Perhaps this "geber" is the one to blame.
Have you checked the temperature sensors yet? If the problem only occurs when the engine is warm, that smells suspiciously like a faulty temperature sensor to me!
Have fun and good luck with troubleshooting.

'That's correct - the ESP lamp is lit and error code 17xxx appears, depending on which pump element is faulty.'
These are the pump nozzle elements.
I also had that issue with my Audi A3, which had a 130 horsepower TDI engine.
'I just bought a Skoda Superb with a V6 TDI engine, and it has a power box installed that boosts the horsepower to 183. I haven't had any problems with it, and on a flat road, it reaches approximately 248 km/h according to the speedometer.'
I will not buy another 'Pumpe-Düse' engine, as the pumps in all of my friends' cars have failed between 20,000 and 100,000 kilometers.
Dear VAG employees,
TEST FIRST, THEN SELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

hello
I think I'm a little further with my problem now; it seems to be a contact issue in the engine compartment. In the meantime, the oil level indicator and the air conditioning have also stopped working. I will now look for the central ground point in the engine compartment. I think that's where the fault lies. Oh yes, I don't know the engine code at the moment, but this car has almost 160,000 km (approximately 99,000 miles) on it in just under 2 years.
