10 Cent: Quirks, Habits, and Oddities

I have now installed the delay circuit in conjunction with the resistor.
After being switched on while the engine is running, it immediately shuts off. When started with resistance, it (logically) shuts off later.
A 2.2 k resistor is connected in parallel with a 2.2 k potentiometer, which is then connected in series with a 680 R resistor and connected to pins 2 and 3.
After the initial failed attempt, the Lambda lamp turned on immediately and has been working ever since.

Is the resistor incorrect? Does anyone have any experience with a 2.5-liter 5-cylinder engine from Audi, installed in a Volvo 850 TDI? I believe it's an AEL engine.

If your Lambda lamp turns on, you probably accidentally installed the components in a gasoline engine.
Check if your fuel injection pump actually has an inductive rotary position sensor or a resistive (potentiometer) type.
The inductive component should be identifiable by a small resistor between pins 2-3 and 1-2 (less than 10 ohms).
You could possibly open the cover of the quantity setting device and take a look inside to check the pin configuration of the connector, which would ensure it's 100% correct.

Well, the guy who drives the gasoline car always puts diesel in it...
The lamp (as if by magic) has stopped working again today (after just a few days).

I worked carefully, meaning I directly tapped into the connectors under the STG (control unit) according to the VOLVO wiring diagram and ran the wires into the interior (pins 2 and 3). There, I can measure a value of 6 ohms.
I might also need to adjust the resistance of the circuit (either lower or higher --> I'm not sure yet, as I'm not an electronics expert, even though I assembled the circuit myself).

I could, of course, now take my crystal ball out of the closet and get the neighbor's black cat...
Is the lamp that's on/was on at your place the pilot light?
Unfortunately, I haven't seen the inside of a Volvo 850 yet, so I'm not familiar with the instrument panel.
It's best to have the engine's fault memory read after it has stalled, so that no one has to guess the reason.
Are you sure that your resistors have the correct values? A 2.2 kΩ resistor is marked with the color code red-red-red for the tolerance range.
