Hello!
I drive 16 km to work every day, and the same distance back home. This includes driving on country roads and in city traffic. Is it normal for the temperature to be around 70-80 degrees Celsius, and then, when I drive at 1500 RPM, for the temperature to drop back down to 60 degrees Celsius?
Is it harmful to the engine (wear and tear, fuel consumption, etc.) if it is only operated at 60 degrees Celsius? Are there any special devices for the engines to help them warm up faster (it already has a kind of heater for the coolant, but it still takes about 9 kilometers to reach 90 degrees Celsius)? How warm should the engine oil be? Should I maybe occasionally give it a really good warm-up (like on a weekend)?

Thank you for your help!

Best regards,
Daniel

I cycle 12km to work. For much of the route, the road is downhill. The first 5km are straight, then there's a short uphill climb. That's when the temperature gauge slowly starts to rise. After that, there's a long, 150-meter descent. Then, the engine gets cold again. When it's really cold, it struggles to warm up even when coasting, almost without any load. The opposite is no problem.

But that doesn't necessarily mean that your thermostat might be faulty or that your glow plug heater is damaged.

Are you LOOKING HERE for an example, if everything is okay?

btw: auxiliary heating is awesome.

Your example doesn't work for me, specifically the *.gif file.
How can you tell if all three heating elements are still working properly? Do they usually show up in the error log?

Your example doesn't work for me, specifically the *.gif.

It's a completely ordinary GIF file that anyone can open with a standard web browser or image viewer.
Check out www.irfanview.de if it's still not working.

How can you tell/detect if all 3 heating elements are still in good condition? Do they otherwise become noticeable in the error memory? [img]

Okay, I'm ready. Please provide the German text you want me to translate.

@Gremlin:
World-class smiley icon_exclaim.gif, it would be wonderful if it were available directly with the standard smileys of this forum icon_biggrin.gif.
