Hello.
Yesterday, I found out that VW wants to replace the mass airflow sensor (MAF sensor) free of charge, provided the car has a complete service history. Whether the inspections were performed by a Volkswagen dealership or an independent workshop, it doesn't matter!

Hello,
'When?' or 'From when?'
Then I'll wait a little longer.
Mine is meticulously maintained and has a complete service history, even verified by VW.
Best regards,

Does anyone have a link to an article on this topic on the Auto Bild website?
Best regards, light switch.

Hello,
The Auto Bild article did not mention anything about it being free of charge, but rather about the possibility of goodwill coverage even for older vehicles. Nothing was said about the customer contribution, as VW is still working on the issue internally and plans to officially offer a solution to customers in the coming days.
It will likely work out something like this: for example, a customer whose 4-year-old Golf has a faulty mass airflow sensor (MAF) might still receive approximately 50% coverage under the warranty.
It is well known to all of us that VW doesn't do anything for free, or give things away, right?

Hello,
They can often offer a discount of more than 50% on their LMM prices before they start incurring a loss. (The Pierburg part costs around €72, and even at that price, they are still making a profit.)
Sincerely,
Christian

Hello,
My VAG dealer says that the campaign only applies to a few specific Audi TT models.
Okay, so no free LMM (Large Language Model)!

Hello,
How much does a Pierburg part cost?
Okay, I have the part number 074 906 461 (VW part number).
It should cost 180 euros at VW.
Where can I get it for 72 euros?
Best regards,

Okay, I just installed the Pierburg (which you can get from your local Mercedes-Benz dealer, using the part number with the board's search function) and the engine is running smoothly again, like it used to. I'm definitely going to keep the old one; maybe VW will eventually become more generous and replace them all for free .

In Austria, the LMM (mass airflow sensor) for a T4 2.5 TDI ACV costs €156, while for me, it's around €120. And what about in Germany?
