How is that possible? We had that problem with the engine revving up when starting, and we got a new temperature sensor under warranty during the autumn holidays.
Since then, it has happened once, and yesterday it happened several times, and today it happened again: the same diagnosis. icon_rolleyes.gif
Does anyone have an explanation for this? Are these sensors all failing every 5,000 kilometers?

Okay, yes, of course.
Ibiza 2001, SDI, 49,000 km.
That should be enough.

Perhaps the wrong sensor was replaced (as happened in my case), and the actual defect was temporarily fixed by the troubleshooting process. By repeatedly plugging and unplugging the connector with the faulty contact (during the troubleshooting), the error was likely resolved. Then, a sensor was replaced based on suspicion, and now the problem has reappeared. Also, a difference in outside temperature can now again lead to the error. Now, the temperature differences between cold start and operating temperature are larger again, which means more movement in the material.

Of course, the possibility of a new sensor defect cannot be ruled out.

Greetings, Peter.

Hi.
The sensor that needs to be replaced is located near the glow plugs for the coolant, so if you look at the plastic engine cover on the right side, are there multiple sensors there?
