Climate Control Retrofit: Installation & Guide

Hello!

I would like to know how much effort and cost would be involved in installing a climate control system in a Golf 3 that currently doesn't have one.
I already have the correct alternator mounting bracket (120A alternator).
The question is also what electrical modifications would be necessary, due to the constant operation of the radiator fan and the additional relays required to control the climate control system, etc.

Has anyone here had any experience with that?

Wow, from a basic climate control to a Climatronic system. You'll have to take almost the entire car apart. If you're going to do it, buy a complete Climatronic system from eBay (they cost around €400 there). Then, start the installation. It's not that easy (it's best to get a workshop manual or something similar, because without one, you'll almost certainly have trouble getting everything out). For my Passat, the dashboard has to come out. I'm converting from manual climate control to Climatronic.

I was actually thinking the same thing. Luckily, I know an electrical expert who works at a VW workshop; he might be able to get me the wiring diagrams and other information.
