I have had the following problem: sudden loss of power on the train. I had the car towed away and disassembled today. During inspection, I noticed that the timing belt was running at an angle. Why??? The engine is only 10,000 km old and came from a 1996 Passat. I heard that something was wrong with the pump console, but that wasn't the cause. I tightened the crankshaft bolt, but it came loose despite using 180Nm + 2x 90Nm + glue. Normally, this shouldn't happen at those torque values. Please help me prevent this from happening again, as it could damage the engine. I have replaced the bolt and timing belt.

Good evening!
As far as I know, it is recommended to replace the timing belt every time it is replaced.
ALSO, the wheel bolt on the KW suspension was also replaced!
(It was also listed on my invoice (110 PS TDI))
Also, many G 60 engines are damaged by stripping the screw.
crossed over. Probably, VW has problems with substandard
Screws.

Post07-06-2002, 17:49    Subject: Problem with Screw Timing Belt Sprocket Crankshaft Translating...

Hi zusammen

Question to the experts (Michael II, etc.):

Is there a clear cut-off (engine number, etc.) after which the "correct" screws must be installed?
