Hello,

I have a Passat, model year 2000, with an AJM engine and 65,000 km on the odometer. Three weeks ago, I had the timing belt replaced, using the Hazet crankshaft locking tool. Before removing the old timing belt, I tried to check its alignment using the alignment tool, and I discovered that the timing was too late, meaning that the crankshaft sprocket was already about half a tooth too far when the camshaft sprocket was fixed in the top dead center (TDC) position.
During the installation of the new ZR, I corrected this, and the car is running properly again.
What I've noticed now is the following: Before the change, the vehicle had a very strong boost starting around 1600 RPM, but it noticeably decreased above 3500 RPM. Now, I have a moderate amount of boost starting around 1800 RPM, which lasts until well over 4000 RPM.
Has anyone experimented with different timing settings?

Sincerely,

On a Passat 3B/AFN, the timing belt was replaced by a 'friendly' mechanic.
gewechselt worden bevor ich Ihn gekauft habe! The car.
It didn't perform very well. One of the reasons was that the wind direction was approximately 10-15 degrees off.
right next to it!
