Hello!

I had my Golf 3 TDI AFN (11/96) in the service center today.
I criticized the unevenness of the power output there.
When I went to pick up the car, they were in the middle of a service.

What does this mean / does anyone have an idea if the values are plausible?

----------
Read Measurement Block 10

790 mg/h 938 mbar 1927 mbar 100.0 %

----------
Read Measurement Block 10

755 mg/h 938 mbar 1876 mbar 100.0 %
----------

Therefore, they have effectively read out the same block 2x.
Why the different result? Could someone please explain this to me?

Thank you and best regards.

D.

Hello,

In the error database, the measurement blocks and the corresponding target values are listed.

Field 1:
Air mass is: 850 .. 1050.

Field 2: Environmental Pressure

Field 3: Absolute Loading Pressure: 1700 .. 2250 mBar

Field 4: Accelerator Pedal Position: 100 %

Since I cannot determine whether the necessary conditions (see also error database) have been met, and without additional measurement blocks, an analysis is hardly possible.

Since your air mass flow rate is below the specified values, but your boost pressure is within the normal range, you could try cleaning the MAF sensor. If this doesn't provide much more help, could you please measure the following blocks under both "idle" and "full load" conditions: blocks 0, 1, 3, 13 and blocks 0, 8, 10, 11.
Tschüss

Hello!

The master in the workshop also said that the LMM values would be slightly lower, but he wouldn't replace them yet. When I arrived, something was still being measured even when the system was idle - unfortunately, I don't have any record of this.

Can one actually get such a diagnostic tool somewhere? They are probably a bit too expensive to buy one.
Or do you have any idea how much the measurements and testing would cost in the workshop (I haven't paid for this one)?

Thank you and best regards.

Hello,

Check out the "Tips & Tricks" section. There are also diagnostic adapters available for purchase.
Personally, I definitely don't want to miss my adapter anymore. That thing has saved me a fortune.

Due to the LMM:
Try cleaning the LMM and then perform measurement runs again. But be sure to carefully check whether the workshop (or you) adheres to the conditions.
Tschüss
