Hello. I've already tried searching, but I haven't found a solution to my problem.
I have a 66kW ALH TDI engine in my Golf IV. I recently installed a boost gauge and noticed that it's showing overboost, sometimes up to 1.5 bar. It might even be a bit higher, as the gauge reaches its maximum at that point.
"When activated, the boost pressure indicator shows a reading between 0.9 and 1 bar. This should be normal. However, the overboost values should normally not exceed 1.3 bar. I haven't made any modifications to my engine. What could be the cause? I know I can adjust the VTG linkage to limit the overboost, but that shouldn't be the solution for an engine that's not tuned for high boost. There must be a reason for this. I appreciate any answers."

Hi.

Does the ALH engine have the LD sensor, including the LL temperature sensor, integrated into the LLK (low-temperature coolant)?

That means there is no hose connecting the intake manifold to the MSTG (like in the 1Z, AFN, etc. engines).

How and where did you connect the LD display?
What did you drill?

Perhaps the reason is this (although I'm surprised by the seemingly plausible values).

Hi,
It can't be due to the indicator or its connection. Have you checked the functionality of the VTG adjustment? The LDR valve will likely remain stuck for a while.
