Hello TDI community,
Audi A6 C4 1.9 TDI
I've noticed over the past few days that my air conditioning system is only producing hot air. This morning, I turned the temperature down as far as it would go, and the display showed 'LO,' but it was still blowing out hot air. The temperature inside the car was around 36°C according to the air conditioning display (display reading from the climate control codes). However, the air conditioning display showed 22°C. Could this perhaps be a fuse or a sensor?
Otherwise, the climate works perfectly fine. In the morning, the fan is gradually turned on, and when it gets warmer, the air conditioner also turns it off. However, only hot air comes out.
I would be very grateful for any assistance.
Hello

Hello Michael,
That sounds like the control knob for temperature would be stuck in the 'Hot' position and wouldn't move anymore.
If the climate itself realizes that the temperature inside is 36°C, even though you have set it to LOW, then this valve should be completely turned towards 'cold'. However, if hot air is present, then it obviously does not.
Reasons for:
- Stuck door
- Faulty actuator
- no connection between the control and the actuator
- Control system malfunction
The control is either done via vacuum or electrically, I don't know how it works in your case.
Let's perform a scan tool diagnosis, which definitely goes beyond VAG-COM, and possibly even through climate codes (I'm not sure about the C4). Then you would have to listen to how each flap is controlled (recirculation, temperature, window, air intake, footwell).
Otherwise, there's only one option: Remove the cover and see if anything is still working in the control unit.
Sorry for these vague details, unfortunately, I am unfamiliar with C4 in this regard, but I hope it still helps.
Greetings

Hello,
In the diagnostic tool for the climate control system in the A6 C4, error codes under number 01 are displayed. Does anyone know where I can find a breakdown that shows which error is being displayed?
Greetings

Hello,
http://www.cheesebuerger.de/smilies/schilder/10.gif
You might need to do a little searching. The search for 'clima* *code*' will, for example, /viewtopic.php?t=2902&highlight=clima%2A+%2Acode%2A
Check out http://ww.vw-audi-forum.de and enter *Climacodes* in the search function. There should be a correct list recorded.
Another AND search term could be 'climate *code*'
Greetings

Hello,
Thanks for the tip. I have found the codes.
My value is 08,5. In the table, it states: 'Temperature control flap return path, static block (*08,5)'.
Under *08.5, 'Engine runs constantly, software attempts to remove blockage'.
Can anyone help me with this?
Thank you.
Greetings

Oh no...
The answer is clearly right there
Shut up.
Disassemble and find out why!
