Hi,

I've had a new Golf TDI PD with 74 kW for 2 weeks.
So far, it's going well - icon_wink.gif - about 700 km driven, and it's very orderly.
However, in my opinion, the engine vibrates quite strongly when idling, which seems to be transmitted to the body of the car.
'Furthermore, I have the feeling that the vibration is also being transmitted to the brake pedal when you press it. It feels like a slight pumping sensation...' Hmmmmm
The RPM is around 900, so it should be okay, right?
I actually think these engines run very smoothly, don't you?
'Actually, my old Fiesta diesel with 60 horsepower used to run more smoothly even when idling.'
Does anyone have a tip or any experience to share?

Regards,
Emu.

What exactly do you mean by "stuttering" or "lagging"? If the engine is experiencing "misfires," I think something is wrong (possibly a problem with the spark plugs?).
If the engine is running smoothly, without excessive idling, and the vibrations are being transmitted to the body, then this is probably normal - unless there was a manufacturing error in the area of the engine mounts.

The engine speed is standard for TDI models.

Hi!

The Fiesta diesel actually runs quieter and smoother than the Golf, especially when idling. The TDI engine has a slight rumble, but the vibrations aren't transmitted to the pedals. If you can feel any vibrations there, the engine isn't running correctly (900 RPM is fine). For a brand new car, I would recommend a visit to the workshop.

Best regards,
Uwe
